Commission or Booth Rental — Which Is Right for Me?
What's the difference?
With commission, you earn a percentage of every service you perform — no upfront costs, and Hair By Ell handles supplies, scheduling support, and marketing. It's a great fit if you're just building your clientele or prefer a simpler setup.
With booth rental, you pay a flat fee to rent your chair and keep 100% of what you earn from your clients. It's a good fit if you already have an established client base and want full control over your pricing and schedule.
Can I switch between the two later?

Do I have to choose full-time hours?
Not at all — both commission and booth rental stylists can work anywhere from 6 to 40 hours a week. It's entirely your choice.
